Our take on Hell Let Loose
Hell Let Loose suits players who want a slower, squad-focused World War II shooter with real stakes. It rewards coordination and patience over fast reflexes, so it fits people happy to talk to a squad more than those who prefer solo drop-in play.
Before buying, check which storefront the key activates on. The PC version sells through Steam and Epic Games Store, and a key for one won't work on the other, so confirm the listing matches where you actually play. Console versions on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S are separate purchases from the PC game and don't share progress or crossplay with PC, though PS5 and Xbox players can play together. The base game is also available through Xbox Game Pass, so check whether buying is worth it if you already subscribe. Watch for region restrictions on keys too, some listings are locked to specific countries, and that should be stated clearly before you buy.
Hell Let Loose has been out for a few years now and reappears in sales fairly often, so it's worth comparing a few listings rather than buying the first one you see. Bundles with cosmetic extras are sometimes worth less than they look if you don't play much, so weigh those against the base game before deciding.
About Hell Let Loose
Hell Let Loose is a large-scale World War II first-person shooter played in two teams of up to 50 players. Matches take place across sprawling maps based on real battles, including Carentan, Foy, Omaha Beach, Kursk and Stalingrad, with a frontline that shifts as territory changes hands.
Players pick from infantry roles like Rifleman, Medic, Engineer, Machine Gunner and Anti-Tank, plus dedicated tank crews and a Commander who directs strategy from an overhead map. Success depends on combined arms teamwork: infantry hold ground, tanks support pushes, and support roles keep everyone supplied with ammo, garrisons and fortifications.
The game is built around squad-based voice communication and a slower, more methodical pace than typical arcade shooters, closer to a tactical simulation. It rewards coordination and communication rather than individual kill counts.
